JungleVine® Fiber comes from the plant Pueraria phaseloides, a relative of kudzu vine. JungleVine® grows rapidly without any agricultural inputs -- no cultivation, irrigation, or chemicals. The indigenous Khmu people in northern Laos gather the vine stems, strip the pulp from the fibers, lay them out to dry in the sun, and then spin the fiber by hand. When harvesting the vine, they always leave enough of the plant behind so that it can re-grow rapidly. Learn more about the vine here.
JungleVine® Fiber is remarkably eco-friendly -- even Better than Hemp! Read more about the comparison here. JungleVine® products are also a socially responsible purchase, as the sales directly benefit the artisans who handmake everything.
Raw Fiber coming soon! Raw, un-spun JungleVine® fiber. This is the white ribbons of raw bast fiber as it is when artisans scrape the pulp from the vine stems. It resembles rafia fibers.

Natural JungleVine® Fiber is undyed. Soa JungleVine® Fiber is dyed with black dye. Soa is the Lao word for "dark" and we use it to describe a mix of dark shades. Due to variation in the vines, time of year the vines are harvested, and dye processes, Soa ranges from very dark blue-black, to shades of gray, to coppery brown in color.
